Description

Journey through history on this full-day tour of the county of Garrotxa. Wander around and learn about medieval villages with an English-speaking guide, and delight in fantastic views of this Catalonian county. After pickup from your hotel in Girona, make your way toward the spectacular village of Castellfollit de la Roca, a set of houses that hang from a column of basaltic rock. Explore its small historic quarter, then climb the bell tower to admire spectacular views of the region. Next, have breakfast with views of the cliff before continuing to the beautiful medieval village of Besalú. Take a guided walk with a local guide, and find out about the history of this town and the importance and influence it had during the Middle Ages. When finished, enjoy some free time to walk around the village on your own and have lunch. After lunch, head from Besalú to the Pont del Llierca, a medieval bridge built on the River Fluvià, and appreciate its architectural beauty. From here, move on toward Banyoles and take a walk along the edge of the beautiful lake. Hear some curiosities and anecdotes about the place as you enjoy the marvelous green and blue scenery.
